The creation of every premium stainless steel water pipe begins with an almost exacting selection of raw materials. Hunan Wangkun Pipe Industry selects food-grade stainless steel coils compliant with national standards (such as GB/T 17219)—commonly used grades include corrosion-resistant 304 and the higher-grade 316L. These materials are precision-cut to predetermined widths on slitting machines, preparing them for subsequent forming. The steel strips then pass through a series of precision forming rollers, gradually and uniformly bending into circular tubes. This process demands extremely high precision control to ensure uniform diameter and perfect roundness.
Welding is the critical step determining the structural strength of the pipes. Modern production lines predominantly employ TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding or automated plasma welding technology. Under the protection of high-purity inert gas, the weld area is completely isolated from oxygen, forming a dense, uniform, and oxide-free weld bead. After subsequent processing, the strength of this weld bead can even match that of the base metal.
Immediately after initial weld formation, the pipe enters the finishing stage. Online milling or grinding equipment smoothly removes excess weld bead height on both inner and outer seams, ensuring seamless transitions with the base material. This process serves not only aesthetic purposes but also eliminates any potential dead corners where impurities could accumulate, guaranteeing unobstructed water flow. Next, the pipes undergo critical solution heat treatment (bright annealing). Within an oxygen-free protective atmosphere, the tubes are heated to 1050-1150°C and rapidly cooled. This process thoroughly eliminates internal stresses from rolling and welding, restoring the optimal microstructure of austenitic stainless steel. This achieves peak corrosion resistance, ductility, and surface luster.

To guarantee flawless quality, each pipe undergoes rigorous non-destructive testing. Eddy current testing—the most common and efficient method—employs electromagnetic induction to detect defects like micron-level cracks and porosity with exceptional sensitivity. Passing pipes then undergo online hydrostatic testing, verifying their sealing integrity and pressure resistance under conditions exceeding standard operating pressure.
Finally, to impart long-lasting corrosion resistance and meet sanitary standards, the pipes undergo acid pickling and passivation. This process not only removes surface scale but also forms an exceptionally dense, chromium-rich passivation layer just a few nanometers thick. This inert film is the fundamental reason stainless steel pipes like 304 and 316L resist corrosion and maintain their integrity over time.
